1 bunch swiss chard
1 avocado pureed* *for cleanse

fresh flat leaf parsley
dried bay leaf
sea salt
white or red pepper

add carrots, parsnips, celery until tender
wash and drain chard and chop into pieces, add to mix
3 quarts plus 2 cups cold water, thyme, parsley and bay leaf, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
Remove from heat and strain and press veggies then discard
use within 3 days or freeze for 3 months
The basic recipe came off of food network, I think from Ina Garten but I am not sure anymore. When I made the recipe, after letting it boil for the first hour, I added the avocado, salt, pepper and dried thyme, parsley and basil and brought it back up to a boil then immediately shut if off and let it cool before taking the veggies out. Flavor to taste with salt & pepper. It had good flavor after I made it and EXCELLENT flavor after several days. Definitely make ahead and freeze for the cleanse!

The Master Cleanse!
Email us
We recommend preparing for the cleanse ahead of time. JR and I did this for our previous cleanse and it went smoothly. On the cleanse we did with The Honoring Hour listeners, neither of us prepared and we found it more difficult. JR drank health shakes and ate meals in the evenings for several days before. I started using a fiber product from NSP called Everybody's Fiber about a month before the cleanse. The week of the cleanse I increased my vegetable intake and graduated out meat protein throughout the week. If you have a preparation routine that you have tried and found successful, please pass it along so we can share it with other readers. Thanks! Good luck to all you cleansers!!
Cold Processed Coffee Extract
In a large bowl mix 1 pound of your favorite coffee (regular grind) and 12 cups cold water. Let stand on the counter for 36 hours (if your home is really warm, you may want to refrigerate). Filter the grounds and liquid extract by using a strainer lined with coffee filters. Refrigerate the extract. For one cup of coffee (taking cup size, personal taste and extract strength into account) use 1 to 4 tbls extract and boiling hot water to fill the cup. You can also pour extract in ice trays and freeze for later use.
